Vocational and Technical Education in Lebanon

The (VTE) comprises two basic fields, namely, Technical Education and Vocational Training. Each field has a number of levels.

The Vocational Education in Lebanon:

Vocational training focuses on the jobs and occupations which do not require extensive theoretical knowledge. It addresses practical and manual competencies and skills. The vocational training field comprises two levels of which lead to the award of a qualification

CAP: Certificat d’Aptitude Professionnel

• Length of Program: 2 Years

BP: Brevet Professionnel

• Length of Program: 2 Years

The Technical Education in Lebanon:

Technical education relates to jobs and occupations requiring a thorough knowledge of the theory and a solid scientific and technological base. Technical education also requires a thorough grounding in general education. This field comprises three levels:

BT: Baccalaureat Technique

• Length of Program: 3 Years

TS: Technician Superieure

• Length of Program: 2 Years

LT: Licence Technique

• Length of Program: 1 Year

The benefits of vocational and technical education can be seen from different sides as it:

• Excludes all subjects that might not on the interest list of the student

• Introduces the students to his career path at an early stage

• Prepares the students to continue their higher education at university by providing them with all the needed knowledge and information. Acquiring the knowledge earlier makes it easier for students to adapt with the university education load
